About the Role

We're hiring an experienced and resident-focused Assistant Property Manager to support daily operations at a large apartment community in Erie, PA. This role is perfect for someone who has worked as an Assistant Property Manager or Property Manager at a smaller community and is ready to take on a bigger challenge.

You'll play a key role in resident interaction, leasing activity, and supporting the Property Manager in keeping operations running smoothly. Strong communication, organization, and conflict-resolution skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Resident Relations & Community Support

Serve as a key point of contact for resident questions, concerns, and complaints Mediate tenant conflicts and ensure timely follow-up on all issues Support move-in and move-out processes, including inspections and documentation Oversee lease renewals, notices, and occupancy tracking Assist with organizing community communication and engagement Leasing & Collections

Provide property tours and respond to rental inquiries Process applications and coordinate move-in logistics Track rent payments and follow up on delinquencies Issue late notices and assist in coordinating payment plans as needed Administrative & Operational Support

Maintain accurate resident files, lease documents, and property reports Assist with vendor coordination, service requests, and general office duties Provide backup coverage when the Property Manager is off-site Monitor compliance with Fair Housing, ADA, and property guidelines Requirements

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves:

2+ years of experience as an Assistant Property Manager or Property Manager (including small properties) Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills Experience handling move-ins, renewals, collections, and tenant communication Familiarity with lease agreements, fair housing regulations, and rent collection processes Proficiency with basic office technology (email, phone, property management software a plus) Preferred:

Experience in affordable or market-rate apartment communities Familiarity with Yardi, AppFolio, or similar platforms Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (preferred but not required) Physical Requirements

Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods, walk units and grounds, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform inspections as needed.
