Mantech seeks a highly technical and mission focused

Cyber Systems Engineer

to join our team in

Herndon, VA

. This position can also be based in McLean, VA with weekly travel the Herndon, VA per customer requirements.

This role is critical in enhancing our cyber defense capabilities through building and maintaining a cyber test range for the customer. Join an elite team of experts helping to defend critical national security assets.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Design, implement, and manage secure, scalable systems across Windows, Linux, and cloud environments.

Manage system configurations, patches, and updates in Windows, Linux, or hybrid environments.

Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools using Python or similar programming languages

Oversee virtual infrastructure (VMware, Hyper-V or similar) and deploy systems in AWS or Azure.

Implement and manage automation workflows using SOAR platforms. Develop automated incident response playbooks to streamline CSOC processes.

Enhance the effectiveness of Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions, Digital Forensics platforms, and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems (Splunk, Elk or similar)

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma and 11+ years of experience as a Cyber Engineer, Systems Engineer or similar role within a cybersecurity environment or Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 7+ years of experience

Experience with Python, Javascript, Ruby, Perl or similar programming languages

8+ years of experience with Operating Systems, Network Infrastructure, Security Principles, and System Architecture

Preferred Qualifications:

Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, CEH or similar

Experience with automation and SOAR platforms

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Clearance Requirements:

Must have a current/active TS/SCI w/Polygraph clearance

Physical Requirements:

The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
