SimVentions is excited to invite an experienced cybersecurity professional to become part of our growing team. As a Mid-Level Cybersecurity Engineer, you will significantly contribute to enhancing our cybersecurity operations through system hardening, vulnerability assessments, and compliance activities aligned with DoD requirements. We seek candidates with a strong cybersecurity foundation and substantial experience in supporting both Linux and Windows environments within DoD networks. You will collaborate with Blue Team, Red Team, and other cybersecurity experts to strengthen cyber readiness and manage system accreditation efforts. Note:
This position is contingent upon the award of a contract anticipated in December of 2025. Clearance:
An ACTIVE Secret clearance (IT Level II Tier 5 / Special-Sensitive Position) is required. Applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance. Responsibilities Include: Creating Assessment and Authorization (A&A) packages for various systems. Developing and maintaining critical security documentation, including: Authorization Boundary Diagrams System Hardware/Software/Information Flow System Security Plans Privacy Impact Assessments Implementation Plans Continuous Monitoring Plans Ports, Protocols, and Services Registrations Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M) Conducting annual FISMA assessments and continuous monitoring of authorized systems. Generating and updating test plans; testing system components using ACAS, implementing STIGs, and conducting IAVM reviews. Performing automated ACAS scanning and vulnerability assessments on Linux and Windows systems. Analyzing scan results and assisting with documentation of findings in POA&M. Requirements: Deep understanding of computer security and DoD cybersecurity policies. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Possession of one of the following DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level III baseline certifications: CASP+ CE CCNP Security CISA CISSP (Associate) CISSP GCED GCIH CCSP Preferred Skills and Experience: At least 10 years of experience in computer security and military system specifications. Familiarity with National Cyber Range Complex (NCRC) and related protocols. Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Cybersecurity/IA defense techniques. Proficiency in STIG implementation and vulnerability assessment using ACAS. Skills in remediating findings, including applying vendor patches on various operating systems. Education:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering. Compensation:
At SimVentions, compensation considers multiple factors such as experience, education, and security clearance. The projected annual salary range for this role is $90,000 - $140,000 (USD). Benefits:
