Full Time The role you’ll contribute: The Cloud Data Platform Engineer Senior is a member of Cloud Data Platform team within Enterprise Data Services department of AdventHealth and will be working with cloud (Azure and Snowflake) and on-premises technologies including Hadoop, NiFi, Impala, Kafka and other distributed systems. The Cloud Data Platform Engineer will work on improving existing and developing new data ingestion frameworks and solutions, build data pipelines for ingesting database, file, API and other forms of data. We are looking for the person to leverage cutting edge technologies in cloud while having good understanding of on-premises Big Data technologies that will allow us to evolve and keep within our architecture standards. The person will build scalable services and tools to help other teammates implement, deploy, and analyze data assets with a high level of autonomy and limited friction. The Data Platform Engineer will work with architects and managers to build frameworks as needed to avoid repetitive work and reduce time to deliver projects. The value you’ll bring to the team: Adopt and enforce best practices related to data ingestion and extraction of data from multiple sources like RDBMS, NoSQL, Files, Kafka, and Big Data tools. Build and support PySpark/Scala data apps. Stay current with the latest Spark updates and best practices. Create and maintain SQL code as necessary as a part of data pipelines. Gather project requirements, meeting with project stakeholders and various operational and business teams. Work with Cloud platform administrators to implement and support our enterprise security standards in the Cloud data infrastructure. Work with the data warehouse, business intelligence and advanced analytics teams to evaluate their Big Data and cloud use cases and provide feedback and guidance. Escalate support issues with internal teams and vendors. Ensure alignment with our Cloud DevOps model based on 100% automation and adoption of repeatable patterns that can be leveraged across the organization. Rotational on-call duty to support production environment. Responsible for building and supporting a Cloud based ecosystem designed for enterprise-wide analysis of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data. Develop, manage, and own full data lifecycle from raw data acquisition through transformation to end user consumption. Perform activities such as deployment, maintenance, monitoring, and management inside the cloud framework that has been created.
