, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a skilled Cyber Security Specialist to support Department of Defense (DoD) contracts at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for protecting systems, networks, and data from cyber threats while ensuring compliance with DoD security requirements. This position requires an active Secret security clearance. This position is located at Stennis Space Center, MS.

Position Description:

The Cyber Security Specialist will be responsible for implementing and maintaining security measures to protect DoD information systems and networks.

Key responsibilities include:

Perform security assessments and audits of systems and networks

Monitor security systems and investigate security breaches

Implement and maintain security controls in accordance with DoD standards

Conduct vulnerability scanning and penetration testing

Respond to security incidents and provide remediation recommendations

Develop and maintain security documentation and procedures

Provide security awareness training to system users

Support RMF (Risk Management Framework) processes

Collaborate with other security professionals and stakeholders

Maintain security certifications and authorizations

Perform continuous monitoring of security controls

Generate security status reports and metrics

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

10+ years of experience in cyber security, with at least 5 years supporting DoD contracts

Active Secret security clearance

Current Security+ certification

Required Skills and Competencies:

Strong knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 security controls

Experience with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)

Proficiency in vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, ACAS, etc.)

Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF)

Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) tools

Understanding of network security protocols and technologies

Familiarity with DoD security policies and procedures

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

Experience with security documentation and reporting

Knowledge of incident response procedures

Understanding of cloud security concepts

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desired Skills and Competencies:

CISSP, CEH, or other advanced security certifications

Experience with classified networks and systems

Knowledge of DevSecOps practices

Familiarity with cloud security in AWS, Azure, or similar platforms

Experience with automated security tools and scripts

Knowledge of zero trust architecture

Experience with CMMC requirements

Background in threat hunting and forensics

Experience working in a NASA or DoD facility

Familiarity with NIST 800-171 compliance requirements

Prior experience working with classified systems at the Secret level

Experience working in a government facility environment
