Job Description
OSEH Inc. is currently looking for a talented and experienced Project Manager to oversee our Construction Engineering group involved in heavy highway construction projects across the Chicagoland Area. This role will be responsible for overseeing all phases of construction—from preconstruction planning through field inspection and project close-out—with an emphasis on quality, schedule, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in civil engineering with expertise in construction management for transportation systems, including roadways, highways, bridges, and transit infrastructure, and brings experience managing IDOT, Tollway, or other municipal roadway projects. We’re looking for a qualified individual who can serve as a Engineer or lead a team of inspectors and documentation technicians on complex transportation jobs. This role requires exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills to manage multidisciplinary teams, ensure compliance with regulations, and deliver projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Lead construction management teams on large-scale transportation infrastructure projects, including highways, interchanges, and bridges.
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and stakeholders during construction.
Oversee field inspection and documentation staff, ensuring adherence to agency standards and contract specifications.
Prepare or review daily reports, pay estimates, change orders, and project correspondence.
Manage project budgets, schedules, and progress reporting.
Coordinate with design engineers, permitting agencies, utility companies, and subcontractors.
Ensure construction activities meet safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
Support proposal development, staff planning, and business development for future construction management opportunities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois ; may consider candidates on PE track with strong experience.
8+ years of relevant experience in transportation construction engineering, including IDOT or Illinois Tollway project work.
Strong knowledge of IDOT and/or Tollway construction standards, specifications, and documentation systems.
Experience managing or performing field inspection and documentation using ICORS or e-Builder.
Certification in Construction Documentation (IDOT) required or ability to obtain.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed
