Job Description
This is a full-time, on-site opportunity based in Los Angeles, California, with an innovative company at the forefront of mobility, AI, and clean energy technology. They're seeking a Security Engineer (Red Team) to join their Vehicle Software division. This role focuses on offensive security, penetration testing, and adversarial simulation to proactively identify and address security vulnerabilities across a broad range of connected products-including autonomous vehicles, robotics, and energy systems.
This position is ideal for a creative, hands-on engineer with a passion for breaking things to make them better. You'll have access to complex, cutting-edge environments and the freedom to simulate real-world attack scenarios that directly influence how products are secured at scale. Required Skills & Experience
Strong background in red teaming, penetration testing, or offensive security operations Hands-on experience with code auditing and vulnerability discovery in languages such as C, C++, PHP, or Go Familiarity with exploitation techniques (e.g., XSS, SQLi, CSRF, memory corruption) Experience with secure architecture design and reverse engineering (x86, ARM, CAN) Comfort working across various domains: web apps, networks, embedded systems, wireless protocols Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Desired Skills & Experience
Experience simulating insider threats and external attacks in a red team environment Proficiency with phishing, social engineering, and physical access attack simulations Ability to develop custom tooling and automated security checks Background in cryptography or vulnerability research is a strong plus What You Will Be Doing Tech Breakdown
Red Team Operations (Adversarial Emulation, Pen Testing) Source Code Auditing & Security Research Tooling, Automation, and Reporting Daily Responsibilities
Conduct internal and external threat simulations across networks, apps, and vehicle software Execute proactive red team assessments and report on vulnerabilities Perform security reviews of third-party tools and integrations Work closely with product and engineering teams to implement security best practices Contribute to security tooling, dashboards, and internal frameworks
