We are currently searching for an experienced
Transportation Project Manager
to support our
Midwest Region
located in
Collinsville, IL .
To be considered for this position, applicants musthave, at minimum, a B.S. or M.S. in Civil engineering from ABET accredited engineering program.
The pay range for this position is $110,000 - $150,000.
What you’ll be doing:
Be a practice builder – growing services, clients, and geography
Serve as the lead with key client and contract management
Recruit, develop, and retain staff
Manage transportation projects to meet financial and technical requirements
Writing proposals
Participating and/or leading interviews
Performing contract negotiations
Project work planning
Supervising the execution of work
Prepare and deliver technical presentations
Participate in marketing and business development
Perform routine aspects of assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles
Projects may include in whole, or in part, roadway, roundabout, multi-use trails, ADA pedestrian facilities, traffic signals, hydrology and hydraulics, retaining walls, enclosed drainage systems, small and large box culverts, traffic barrier systems, and other roadside development features.
Prepare engineering studies, documents, and reports
Prepare engineering analysis to include: preliminary design, final design, and calculations
Conduct surveys to gather field data
Prepare drawings, layouts, and other visual aids using computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs
Review the development of designs for compliance with applicable codes, adopted engineering standards, and good engineering practices
What you need to have:
B.S. or M.S. in Civil engineering from ABET accredited engineering program
Licensed Illinois P.E.
7 - 14 years of progressive transportation/roadway experience
5+ years of experience in management of engineering and support staff
Must be proficient with MicroStation and/or Bentley Open Roads Designer
Experience working with municipalities, counties, or DOT
Possess a strong understanding of project management
The ability to manage AND assist in the production of design deliverables
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines.
Valid driver’s license.
A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).
