Position Summary: Responsible for the overall completion of the data processing phase of specific field survey projects. This position is not eligible for employer-based sponsorship with the exception of the TN visa classification.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Performs topographic plotting, terrain modeling, plat preparation, note reduction and design file generation
Perform office survey activities in accordance with Minimum Standards of Practice for Surveying
Perform property owner and utility records research
Performs office computations necessary for the completion of task assignments including QA/QC.
Tracks job progress
Coordinates information for stakeout services
Analyzes raw data for mathematical closure and geometric accuracy
Prepares finished grade sheets, topographic maps, records of survey, corner records and other survey reports
Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities
Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills
Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
Valid Driver's License Required
Required Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Skills in coordinate geometry and trigonometry
Familiarity with third party software for data reduction and drafting including AutoCAD or Carlson preferred and MicroStation.

Working Conditions
Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
Field work is required 5% of the time, where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
