Linux System Administrator Functional Lead

Design, implement, troubleshoot, and sustain Linux based physical and virtual machines for the Missile Defense Space Center
Administer container platforms such as OpenShift, Docker, and Podman as-well-as maintain multiple repositories/registries
Oversee and perform the hardening of operating systems and STIG compliance
Collaborate with cybersecurity, DevSecOps, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure system administration and compliance practices are maintained
Manage/delegate tasking derived from project, sustainment, and break/fix sources
Manage/mentor a team responsible for ensuring system software installations, maintenance, break/fix activities, and cyber security mitigations are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and service level agreements
Develop and maintain system administration procedures and baseline configuration documentation
Focus on creating, upgrading, managing, and sustaining physical and virtual workstations

Requirements
Education/Training:
Bachelor’s Degree in an IT or STEM related field
Must have, or obtain within 60 days of hire, a computing environment Linux certification
Must have, or obtain within 60 days of hire, a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g. Security+)
Experience:
5+ years of directly related experience in UNIX and/or Linux systems administration
Experience administering a Red Hat Linux environment
Security:
Must be a US citizen
Candidate must be in possession of a minimum DoD issued Secret Clearance
Physical Requirements:
Able to occasionally reach with hands and arms
Prolonged periods of computer screen use, while sitting or standing at a desk
Adhere to safety protocols when in work areas requiring use of PPE (e.g. eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)
Able to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds at a time

Salary: $130,000 - 170,000
