Wofford College is seeking a
Director of Wellness Programming . The Director of Wellness Programming will provide strategic leadership for student wellness and health promotion initiatives across campus, integrating prevention, education, and holistic programming to support student well-being. The approach will be to create a multidisciplinary, data-driven approach to wellness that addresses current issues in a college age student population.
Reports to the Director of the Wellness Center which is located in the division of Campus Life and Student Development. Collaborates with departments across campus to provide wellness programming.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Program Development
Develop and implement a college-wide wellness strategy aligned with institutional priorities. Use data to assess needs, plan initiatives, and evaluate outcomes. Monitor national trends and integrate best practices. Program Oversight & Delivery
Design and manage evidence-based health promotion programs: stress management, nutrition, mental health, substance misuse prevention, mindfulness. Coordinate large-scale events, workshops, and campaigns engaging diverse student groups. Provide campus-wide education and orientation about the Wellness Center mission and services. Supervision & Collaboration
Collaborate with campus partners (Student Involvement Team, counseling services, intramurals and recreation, academic affairs, student conduct, Title IX) to identify issues. Budget & Resource Management
Manage operational expenses. Oversee any vendor contracts and program materials (e.g., fitness franchises, wellness toolkits). Assessment & Reporting
Employ assessment tools to benchmark and report on impact. Deliver regular reports to Director of Wellness Center, senior leadership and stakeholders. Policy & Risk Management
Assist with the development of wellness policies particularly around high-risk behaviors Participate in appropriate college committees. Required Qualifications
Master's in Public Health, Health Promotion, Counseling, Psychology, Education, or related field 5+ years in wellness programming, preferably within higher education. Strong leadership, budgeting, project management, communication skills and demonstrated effectiveness in public speaking and group presentations. Familiarity with evidence-based interventions and data-driven evaluation. Working Conditions
Full-time, abbreviated summer hours. Weekday core hours with regular evenings/weekends for programs. Blend of office and event site settings, plus occasional travel for professional development.
