Oracle ( Exadata & Active Data Guard) DB Admin
Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
Fulltime Role
The DBA will be responsible for Engineering DBA tasks. This will include Installation and Engineering of Software for Different Oracle technologies like Golden Gate, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and Active Data Guard (ADG) on Oracle Engineered Systems (Exadata). The Oracle DBA, as part of the Engineering team, will be responsible for POC and engineering of Oracle Technology Projects from Initial Scope, Design, Engineering, Documentation, and Knowledge Transfer to Support Teams keeping in mind maximize system availability, stability, efficiency, data integrity, recoverability, and supportability. The DBA will actively collaborate with the Global Database Platforms (GDP) Projects and Operational teams and develop standards and guidelines to guide database infrastructure strategy.
Responsibilities and Required Skills Experience with management of Oracle Databases: • Experience with Oracle 11g, 12c, 19c, Oracle RAC and Oracle Data Guard • Experience with Oracle Multitenant (Containers and Pluggable databases), in addition to its features such as Hybrid Columnar Compression • Knowledge of Oracle Engineered (Exadata) hardware platforms, networking, storage and subsystems. • Deep experience with the Linux operating system and shell scripting • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) • Experience with Installation/Upgrade/Patching of database software and related Exadata tasks. • Experience with backup/recovery design, DR implementation, monitoring implementation, performance tuning and optimization. • Experience with storage management, provisioning, and optimization. • Deep experience with the Linux operating system and shell scripting. • Good understanding of fundamental technologies like TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, SMTP, DNS, Load balancer, NFS. Experience working within a project management processes: • Partner with business, technical, and application partners to discuss the project requirements and to help plan and develop solutions for he Oracle Database architecture. • bility to plan and complete projects based on high-level requirements with minimal or no guidance. • Methodical and accurate while delivering tasks, working within project deadlines. • Systematic approach to identifying issues and pursuing paths to resolution. • Experience installing and building new solutions or improving existing applications. • Participate in the design, configuration and implementation of secure and scalable enterprise Oracle 19c RDBMs. • Plan, coordinate and implement security measures (ie. Encryption) to safeguard information against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.
