Become a vital part of our 61-bed inpatient freestanding rehabilitation hospital, recognized for our Joint Commission Disease Specific certifications in Stroke, Brain Injury, Amputee, Hip Fx, and cardiac care. OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS Full-time position with a focus on inpatient rehabilitation. Enjoy the flexibility of self-directed daily workflow. Immediate engagement with 15-20 patients per day. Consulting opportunities available at local acute care hospitals. Receive a monthly stipend as Associate Medical Director. ENCOMPASS HEALTH PM&R ASSOCIATE MEDICAL DIRECTOR DESCRIPTION As the Associate Medical Director, you will collaborate with the Medical Director and leadership team to enhance the quality and integrity of our rehabilitation services. This role is crucial in optimizing clinical care while providing hands-on patient care. Partner closely with the hospital CEO to elevate the reputation of our facility as the preferred inpatient rehabilitation hospital in the region. Strive to improve patient satisfaction ratings, aiming to exceed Encompass Health's average and consistently achieve a top 10 clinical ranking. Build strong relationships with local specialists and educate them on the benefits and criteria for inpatient rehabilitation. Your role is key in providing information that ensures patient access to essential services. Establish a visible presence within the hospital, fostering a reputation for approachability and support among staff, patients, and their families. In addition, you will have the opportunity to develop a private practice with a caseload of medically complex inpatient rehabilitation patients and an optional outpatient rehabilitation practice. You will work with an independent billing company, retaining 100% of your billing and collections, all while operating in a busy environment with high patient volumes, supported by well-trained outreach teams identifying potential inpatient rehabilitation candidates. WHERE YOU WILL PRACTICE Bryan, Texas, is centrally located in the heart of the Texas Triangle, allowing easy access to the state's largest metropolitan areas—all within a three-hour drive. This welcoming town has something for everyone, from outdoor adventures to cultural experiences, appealing to a broad spectrum of interests. The Bryan College Station area revolves around Texas A&M University, fostering a vibrant community atmosphere, known as 'Aggieland' for the university's sports teams and students. QUALIFICATIONS MD or DO with state medical license or willingness to obtain one. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or a related specialty. Dedication to patient-centered excellence. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Experience in hospital-based physiatry is preferred but not mandatory.
