Join our dedicated team as a Part-Time Lactation Consultant, where you will play a key role in supporting mothers and promoting breastfeeding. This position is ideal for those with experience in women's services, enabling you to utilize your expertise in lactation support and education for diverse patient populations. As a Lactation Consultant, your responsibilities will include: Providing nursing care and professional education for women's services patients, focusing on lactation support and breastfeeding education. Collaborating with nursing management to address patient education needs and providing guidance to caregivers of childbearing families. Acting as a clinical resource for hospital staff and fostering collaboration within the team to create a positive work environment. Key Functions: People Essential Functions:

Leverage your specialized knowledge in lactation support to educate patients effectively. Maintain ongoing communication with nursing management regarding patient care challenges. Service Essential Functions:

Assess educational needs for patients and staff, and develop programs that encourage effective communication and teaching skills. Quality/Safety Essential Functions:

Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care quality and safety, while adhering to professional practice standards and regulatory requirements. Finance Essential Functions:

Demonstrate time management and efficient resource utilization to help meet departmental financial goals. Growth/Innovation Essential Functions:

Contribute to practice changes and improvements based on evidence-based approaches, and remain active in professional development opportunities. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution Minimum of three years of clinical experience in lactation support and related fields Current RN licensure in Texas (or Compact Licensure) and BLS certification Neonatal Resuscitation certification and a recognized certification in women’s services specialty (e.g., CLC, IBCLC) Skills and Abilities: Proven ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams Strong organizational skills and the capacity to manage projects efficiently Leadership qualities that foster collaboration and mentorship opportunities within the nursing staff This position does not require on-call duties or travel outside the local area.
