$65-75/hr on W2 ONLY (no c2c or sponsorships) \n Job Description: Support and enhance DB2 for i platforms by managing database operations, optimizing performance, and collaborating with development teams to ensure reliable deployments. \n Day-to-Day Responsibilities: \n \n

Review and optimize complex SQL queries on DB2 for i

\n

Support shared services: ticket handling, data changes, and query reviews

\n

Triage production issues using iDoctor, database tracers, visual explain, etc.

\n

Participate in overnight on-call rotation for database deployments

\n

Join and contribute to daily operational meetings

\n

Recommend tools and platform improvements

\n

Document procedures and mentor junior engineers

\n

\n Requirements: \n

Must-Haves: \n

\n

5 years of hands-on DBA experience with DB2 for i (DB2/400)

\n

Deep knowledge of IBM i server and Db2 for i platform

\n

Proficient in complex SQL development and database optimization

\n

Understanding of OLTP/OLAP concepts

\n

Experience with tools like Client, plan cache, and iDoctor

\n \n

Nice-to-Haves: \n

Background as an RPG programmer \n

Experience with DevOps and Agile methodologies \n

Familiarity with build management and CI tools \n \n
