Florida Health Care Plans (FHCP) is seeking an experienced Board-Certified Psychiatrist to serve as Medical Director of Behavioral Health in a dual clinical and leadership role within our growing outpatient psychiatry department!
This position offers a balanced mix of patient care and administrative responsibilities, providing an opportunity to shape the future of mental health services while maintaining a fulfilling clinical practice.
Practice Highlights:
Leadership & Clinical Balance
Spend 80% of your time in direct patient care and 20% in administrative oversight. Outpatient Only
No inpatient responsibilities, allowing for an optimal work-life balance. Flexible Schedule
Set office hours with limited, telephone-only call. Team-Based Approach
Work alongside a highly collaborative team, including psychiatrists, PMHNPs, LCSWs, LMHCs, crisis intervention teams, and addiction services professionals. Comprehensive Behavioral Health Services
Lead a department that provides individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and substance abuse treatment, including a Suboxone clinic for addiction management. Multi-Site Leadership
Provide oversight and guidance across six FHCP behavioral health locations.
Leadership Responsibilities:
Provider Oversight
Supervise, mentor, and support behavioral health clinicians to ensure exceptional patient care. Clinical Standards & Quality Improvement
Develop policies, practice standards, and process improvements to enhance patient outcomes. Interdepartmental Collaboration
Work closely with the
Chief Medical Officer (CMO)
and leadership teams to expand and enhance mental health services. Staff Training & Development
Oversee ongoing training, utilization review, and peer review for providers. Patient Access & Scheduling
Partner with the
Behavioral Health Practice Manager
to optimize patient scheduling and provider caseload management. Departmental Meetings
Conduct regular provider and staff meetings to foster collaboration and communication.

Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist. Licensure
Current Florida medical license or ability to obtain. Leadership Experience
