Lead Data Analyst

The Lead Data Analyst works as part of a deadline-oriented, fast-paced team consisting of consulting and operations staff that works together to provide superior service to states and large school districts in the areas of special education management systems, data warehousing, federal claiming, and other programs. The Lead Analyst will be responsible for supervising a small team of Data Analysts, providing strategic recommendations in terms of data interoperability direction and features. Will also be responsible for reviewing, formatting, importing/exporting, transforming, validating, or modeling data for strategic clients with the purpose of understanding or drawing conclusions to drive strategic and operational decision-making. Overall responsibilities include: Project Management Documentation Data Analysis Data Engineering Communication Skills Specific responsibilities include: Delegating and managing tasks accordingly to meet or exceed client expectations. Writing advanced SQL queries and performing complex data mining techniques to capture appropriate data. Producing reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to satisfy client requirements. Automating business processes with Power Apps and Flows. Performing business analysis to identify opportunities for business improvement. Presenting and interpreting results of data analysis to internal stakeholders. Liaising with IT team regarding data governance and requirements of the data warehouse. Overseeing creation and maintenance of data dictionaries, data flow diagrams, etc. for EDPlan reports and related functions. Strategic client management including working with clients to resolve issues, provide support, and build relationships. Travel to and present at status update meetings to clients. Engaging technical team as it relates to emerging data structure and reporting needs, in close partnership with the project leads. Software implementation activities including data migration, data integration, site preparation, and project management. Overseeing and performing data QA. Reviewing data analysis and agendas for client meetings. Assisting strategic school districts in submitting electronic data and uploading the data into our system. Required skills include: Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and careful attention to detail. Proficiency in MS Office products: Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Expertise in creating/using scripts, macros, formulas, and other similar data wrangling skills and techniques. Excellent organizational, oral presentation and written communication skills. Preferred skills include: Previous experience utilizing Visio, Asana, and JIRA. Previous experience utilizing Python, SQL or other data platforms. Required experience includes: Bachelor's degree and/or prior data analysis experience. 3+ years supervisory experience. 3+ years of schools (K-12) experience. 6+ years data analyst experience. Salary range: $80,000 - $100,000. Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
