Senior Human Resources Generalist
to join an innovative and fast-growing manufacturer of high-performance permanent magnets and magnetic assemblies engineered to meet the stringent demands of customers across the aerospace/defense, semiconductor equipment, medical, and industrial markets. Based in Torrance, CA, this company thrives in a high-mix, precision manufacturing environment and partners with top-tier clients across regulated industries.
This onsite role will be the
primary HR conta
ct for production and operations teams , delivering full-spectrum HR support including employee relations, recruitment, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance with California labor laws. The HR Generalist will work closely with plant leadership and corporate stakeholders to foster a compliant, high-performance, and engaged workforce.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the HR point of contact for hourly and salaried employees, offering guidance on policies, procedures, and employment law. Lead and support
employee relations investigations , ensuring consistent and fair resolution aligned with company policy. Support supervisors and managers in
perform
ance management , coaching, disciplinary actions, and employee development. Ensure compliance with
California and federal labor laws
including CA Labor Code, FMLA/CFRA, FEHA, Cal/OSHA, and wage/hour laws. Manage hourly workforce recruitment: job postings, resume screenings, interviews, offers, and onboarding. Assist with salaried recruiting in partnership with the Talent Acquisition Specialist. Oversee
benefits administration , open enrollment, and employee questions in coordination with brokers and vendors. Conduct
new hire orientation , HR trainings, and development initiatives to enhance retention and engagement. Administer leave of absence programs (FMLA, CFRA, ADA, PDL) and manage accommodations in compliance with CA law. Maintain
accurate employee records
and HRIS data (UltiPro preferred), ensuring compliance with wage and hour regulations, including timecard and break tracking. Collaborate with payroll and finance to ensure
accurate compensation and deductions . Support HR audits and compliance reporting (EEO, CA Pay Data, OSHA logs, Vets 4212). Generate HR metrics and reports to support data-driven business decisions. Partner with EHS and operations to support
workplace safety compliance
and workers' comp coordination. Take initiative on additional HR-related projects and cross-functional support as needed. Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field. Minimum of 3 years of HR Generalist experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Strong working knowledge of
California employment laws , wage/hour regulations, and Cal/OSHA requirements. HR certification strongly preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP). Spanish fluency preferred.
