SPLUNK SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR Newport News, VA Contract Hours: 7:30am-4:00pm $41.53 - $54.63/Hr.
Requirements:
SPLUNK SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
Our client requires that candidates must have an active/current DoD Secret Personnel Clearance (PCL) to start, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. 6 Years relevant experience with Bachelors; 4 Years relevant experience with Masters; 10 Years relevant job experience with a HS diploma Experience with Linux and Windows environments Experience with interacting with customers configuration and optimization in Splunk Experience with using scripting languages to automate tasks and manipulate data Strong expertise understanding architecture and ability to create, modify, troubleshoot data queries through various data sources Knowledge of enterprise logging, including application, OS, and security technology logging Experience with network security, system security, and supporting security information and event management (SIEM) Experience with infrastructure management and support and system administration in Windows and UNIX environments Experience with security tools, including Firewall, IDS, and Active Directory Splunk Administrator Certification Job Summary:
SPLUNK SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
