Lead API Developer - eCommerce VIN Parts Catalog Day 1 onsite Open for both Subcon and FTE Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and hands on Lead Developer to drive the design and implementation of APIs for our VIN based parts catalog. This role will lead the technical development of a modular, scalable, and secure eCommerce platform, integrating with Azure API Management (APIM) and leveraging the existing architecture and Java based backend systems. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and development of RESTful APIs to support VIN based parts lookup, shopping cart, and order processing workflows. Integrate Azure APIM to manage, secure, and monitor APIs across development and production environments. Collaborate with cross functional teams to modernize the existing Java/J2EE based catalog system using modular JavaScript and microservices architecture. Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions using tools such as SOAP/REST, and secure SSO flows (ADFS, SAML). Oversee the migration of legacy scripts into modular components and ensure seamless integration with International¿s platforms Ensure secure and performant API design, including token based authentication, TLS encryption, and SOAP header security Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers and contractors. Required Skills & Experience 8+ years of experience in Java/J2EE development, including JSP, Servlets, and Spring Framework. Proven experience designing and deploying RESTful APIs and SOAP based services. Strong knowledge of Azure API Management (APIM), including policy configuration, gateway deployment, and analytics. Experience with RequireJS, jQuery, Bootstrap, and modular JavaScript architecture Experience with Oracle or SQL Server databases and WebSphere environments. Strong understanding of secure transport (SSL/TLS), WS Security, and SOAP fault handling Preferred Qualifications Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in Azure environments. Knowledge of VIN decoding, parts master data, and related automotive domain concepts.
