First Citizens Bank This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following locations: NC, TX, AZ, FL, GA, VA Overview This position is responsible for the end-to-end delivery and maintenance of cloud and on-premises data solutions, including analytics data platforms, data integration (ETL/ELT), data quality, data lineage, metadata management, and data governance tools. The role involves ensuring project delivery on time, maintaining data integrity for business operations and decision-making, and supporting the services offered. The Lead Data Engineer serves as a technical expert and mentor, engages in vendor management, budget planning, and auditing to ensure effective resource allocation. Responsibilities Lead efforts to evaluate and improve systems, processes, and applications. Design and execute test plans, develop training materials, and ensure system modifications fit within existing architecture. Provide technical support for production systems, address complex issues, anticipate maintenance needs, and lead major projects with quality results. Mentor and train associates, participate in technical meetings, and serve as a resource for management and business units. Collect and analyze data related to user requests, verify specifications, coding, testing, and documentation for accuracy. Collaborate with architects and development teams to understand data requirements, build reusable data pipelines, and ensure compliance with standards. Code solutions for data integration, build data transformation processes, and communicate deployment requirements. Work with stakeholders to address data management gaps, negotiate solutions, and leverage technical knowledge. Mentor Data Engineers, monitor KPIs, oversee tasks in a dynamic environment, and perform unit testing and performance tuning. Create data ingestion pipelines, lead testing efforts, and manage CI/CD pipelines. Coordinate with product owners, participate in Agile ceremonies, and ensure service availability and incident support. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of experience or High School Diploma with 14 years of experience in software development and maintenance. Preferred Skills Experience in data engineering, data integration, SQL, Informatica, DataStage, Netezza, SSIS. Experience leading multi-time zone data teams, cloud platforms like AWS, Snowflake, dbt. Knowledge of cloud data warehousing, data modeling, data quality, analytics platforms, Python, Power BI, SSAS, SSRS. Benefits are part of the total rewards package.
