The Solution Architect is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and implementing innovative technologies that advance the mission and strategic objectives of a premier law enforcement agency. This forward-thinking leader drives the adoption of new solutions-including artificial intelligence, automation, advanced analytics, and next-generation cloud services-to enhance operational efficiency, security, and user experience across the agency's IT environment. The Solution Architect collaborates with stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors to ensure successful integration and continuous improvement of emerging technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Scouting & Evaluation: Continuously monitor the technology landscape to identify trends, tools, and solutions relevant to the agency's mission. Evaluate new and emerging technologies for potential adoption, conducting feasibility studies, pilots, and proof-of-concept projects. Analyze the impact, risks, and benefits of integrating emerging technologies into the agency's IT ecosystem. Innovation Leadership: Serve as the agency's subject matter expert on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, automation, advanced analytics, and next-generation cloud services. Develop and maintain a technology innovation roadmap aligned with agency goals and priorities. Recommend and champion new technology initiatives to senior leadership and stakeholders. Solution Design & Integration: Lead the design, planning, and implementation of emerging technology solutions, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and compliant with federal and agency policies. Oversee transition from pilot to production, including change management, training, and documentation. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Engage with business units, IT leadership, and external partners to understand requirements and promote the adoption of innovative solutions. Communicate the value and impact of emerging technologies through presentations, reports, and demonstrations. Continuous Improvement: Establish metrics to measure the success and business value of emerging technology initiatives. Capture lessons learned and best practices to inform future innovation efforts. Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements. Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of six (6) years of recent experience in technology innovation, solution architecture, or IT leadership roles in a large-scale enterprise environment. Demonstrated experience with the evaluation, implementation, and integration of emerging technologies. Direct, relevant experience within the last two years. Skills and Competencies: Deep understanding of emerging technologies such as AI, automation, advanced analytics, and cloud computing. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects. Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement abilities. Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

U.S. citizenship. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to present complex technical concepts to senior stakeholders. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and changing mission requirements.
