Senior Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE)

We are seeking a highly experienced and mission-driven Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to join our elite team supporting a critical government program. This role demands a seasoned cybersecurity professional with deep technical expertise, a strategic mindset, and a commitment to national security. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security architectures for complex, distributed systems operating in high-security environments. Security Clearance Requirements: U.S. Citizenship required Active TS/SCI Security Clearance with FS Polygraph Responsibilities: Conduct technical security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with Information Assurance (IA) standards and regulations Validate and verify system security requirements and develop secure system architectures Design and integrate IA/security systems across multi-enclave environments with varying classification levels Collaborate with system architects and developers to embed security functionality into system designs Lead risk analysis, threat mitigation, and security planning throughout the system lifecycle Review and provide feedback on Certification & Accreditation (C&A) documentation Evaluate and test security solutions, software, and configurations to ensure compliance and effectiveness Serve as a subject matter expert in security architecture, policy enforcement, and compliance strategy Participate in Agile development processes, including Program Increment Planning and sprint activities Basic Qualifications: Twenty (20) years of experience as an ISSE on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity OR Eighteen (18) years with a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or related discipline OR Sixteen (16) years with a Bachelor's degree in the above fields OR Twenty-four (24) years with no degree (4 additional years of experience in lieu of a bachelor's) DoD 8570 compliance with IASAE Level 3 is required CISSP and ISSEP certifications required Demonstrated Expertise In: Risk Management Framework (RMF) Security policy formulation and assessment Vulnerability testing and mitigation Security tools such as Nessus, NMAP, Wireshark Secure OS configurations and system hardening Full system security engineering lifecycle Strong communication skills and the ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative environments Fringe Benefits: Health Insurance: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans Retirement Plan: 401(k) with company match Paid Time Off: Generous PTO policy including vacation, sick leave, and holidays Professional Development: Opportunities for training, certifications, and career advancement Work-Life Balance: Flexible work schedules and remote work options Wellness Programs: Employee assistance programs, wellness initiatives, and gym membership discounts Why Join Us?
