We have a significant opportunity to mobilize our county-wide donor community through a comprehensive fundraising campaign that will support our new mission to advance health and wellness for everyone in our community in a welcoming, inclusive, and personalized environment. An experienced and results-driven Major Gift Officer will be a key member of the Advancement Department reporting to the Director of Development. The development team will work together to strengthen the culture of philanthropy at BHS, ensuring that the health system's financial goals are met by cultivating meaningful relationships with major donors. Essential duties and responsibilities of the major gift officer will include-Prospect Qualification, Cultivation, and Solicitation: Work closely with BHS leadership and volunteer fundraising committees to prepare them for cultivating and soliciting leadership gifts. Develop a dynamic portfolio of approximately 50 high-potential donors and prospects who have the capacity to make philanthropic gifts between $10,000 and $250,000. In partnership with Development Director and in close collaboration with key BHS stakeholders, create and execute tailored strategies for engaging prospective donors in ways that align their interests with the mission of BHS. Maintain a regular schedule of significant interactions (phone calls, meetings, lunches, special events) with donors and prospects, with an increased number of in-person interactions during the summer months in the Berkshires. Work with the Development Director to create actionable plans and timelines for successful solicitations, including utilizing planned giving vehicles when appropriate. Management of Donor Engagement Opportunities: Collaborate with the Advancement team to plan and execute fundraising events, such as luncheons, donor dinners, and cocktail receptions in the Berkshires, that are designed to foster relationships with new major gift prospects and deepen engagement with current donors.Donor Stewardship & Communication: Work with Advancement staff to ensure donors receive timely, personalized updates on the impact of their gifts, as well as news about BHS, particularly in their areas of interest. Cultivate ongoing relationships with donors throughout their lifecycle, providing a seamless experience that encourages continued involvement and long-term engagement.
