About the job Seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to join our dynamic team. This critical role will be responsible for managing the efficient and compliant flow of goods, both domestically and internationally, with a particular focus on regulated Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs). The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a deep understanding of logistics processes, and a commitment to continuous improvement in cost and service.

Key Responsibilities:

Import Compliance & Documentation:

Prepare and submit accurate and timely import declarations, with attention to FDA and DEA compliance, proper HS/HTS classification, standard duty rates and exemptions, and optimal delivery schedules. Ensure strict adherence to all import regulations, tariffs, and customs requirements for controlled substances and other regulated goods. Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth customs clearance processes. Maintain comprehensive records of all import documentation for audit readiness. Manage and optimize relationships and contracts with domestic courier service providers, including negotiation and performance monitoring. Establish and monitor KPIs for logistics partners, addressing any service failures or discrepancies promptly. Identify opportunities for service level improvements and cost efficiencies within the domestic courier network. Domestic LTL, International Air and Ocean Freight Management:

Obtain and analyze quotations from various carriers for domestic Less-Than-Truckload (LTL), international air and ocean freight shipments. Negotiate favorable rates and terms with carriers to achieve cost savings while maintaining service quality. Monitor and track shipments, providing timely updates to internal stakeholders on status and potential delays. Resolve any issues related to shipping, including damages, delays, or discrepancies.

Operational Support & Collaboration:

Collaborate closely with internal departments, including Supply Chain, Warehouse, Sales, and Quality Assurance, to ensure seamless logistics operations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging trends in logistics and trade compliance. Contribute to the development and improvement of logistics processes and procedures Set yourself apart Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). 3 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or import operations. Strong understanding of domestic and international transportation modes (LTL, FTL, Air Freight, Ocean Freight a plus). Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts and secure competitive rates with carriers. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
