Our direct client has an opening for a
Senior Java Developer
(ID: 11660-1). This position is up to 12 months, with the possibility of extension, in Columbia, SC. Please send your rates and resume. W2 only, no subcontractors allowed. Senior Level Java Developer is a must Azure experience is a must Scope of the Project:
Implement cloud-native solutions supporting REST API and asynchronous event/message-based pub/sub integrations using Azure services (API Management, Container Apps, Event Grid, and others). Standardize and document design and engineering patterns, processes, and solutions. Support statewide integrations with Azure applications. Implement automated DevOps, GitOps, and DevSecOps processes (unit testing, regression testing, security scans, deployments, etc.). Daily Duties/Responsibilities:
Participate in all Agile activities: daily standups, backlog refinement, demos/reviews, retrospectives. Engage in development activities: coding, code reviews, testing. Ensure work item acceptance criteria and teams definition of done are met. Work within the teams DevOps model, ensuring end-to-end quality and support. Collaborate with architecture and stakeholders to design and improve business and technical processes. Required Skills (ranked by importance):
At least 5 years of application development using solid OOP principles. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Java web development experience including Spring Boot, Maven, JUnit. Experience developing containerized applications. Azure application engineering and implementation experience. Preferred Skills (ranked by importance):
Azure service-specific experience (API Management, Container Apps/Aks, Event Grid/Service Bus, Azure Functions). Experience working on Agile teams (Scrum/Kanban). Understanding of REST API design and event-driven architectures. Experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD, backlog management. Knowledge of test-driven development principles. Education and Certifications:
Bachelors degree in computer science, information management, or related field. Two years of experience in system development, maintenance, and modification. Five years of application system development and modification or equivalent experience. Additional Skills:
Same as above, emphasizing 5+ years of application development, effective communication, Java expertise, containerization, and Azure implementation experience.
