And you can too, so bring your energy to ours.As Technical Specialist Sr, you will use innovation and judgement to resolve sophisticated problems, working closely with multiple company partners to ensure accurate and available data. You may coordinate the work of team members, so leadership, presentation and training skills are vital. Project planning and the ability to collaborate are keys to success in this role and safety is of utmost importance!As a Controls Technical Specialist, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with people across Williams in order to maintain safe operations, high reliability, and compliant hardware and software for our control systems. Key relationships include IT, Operations, Pipeline Control, Tech Services, and Project Execution. You will ensure system integrity while maintaining compliance, safety of facility equipment and overall pipeline operations. To be successful, project planning, teamwork and evaluation skills are needed. Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), HMI, Allen Bradley and SCADA solutions are also key. Your work will challenge you, and with our Core Values to guide you, you'll quickly learn and grow with us.Responsibilities/Expectations:Performs moderately difficult assignments to ensure system integrity, support pipeline operations, maintain compliance and maintain facility equipmentTroubleshoots/resolves sophisticated problems using technical evaluation, innovation and judgmentDevelops, presents and trains internal and external partners; may mentor othersParticipates in project planning and works closely with company partnersLeads development and tasks associated with operations, equipment maintenance, technical standards and/or governmental requirementsReads, understands and evaluates engineering design documents, contracts and agreementsPartners with customers, Operations, Gas Control, SCADA, and Gas Dispatch to ensure accurate and accessible data throughout project planning and execution.Reviews and interprets engineering design documents, contracts, and agreements to support project and operational needs.Provides advanced support for training, troubleshooting, commissioning, archiving, and programming of control systems.Demonstrates hands-on experience with PLCs, HMI, Allen Bradley, and SCADA solutions, including greenfield programming and troubleshooting.Assists in the design, programming, and commissioning of control and instrumentation systems for both operations and capital projects.Identifies opportunities to enhance operator experience and process efficiency by applying industry-leading control system practices.Leads efforts to implement cybersecurity programs, manage system updates, and ensure control systems remain compliant and secure.Participates in small-scale capital projects, updates and validates C&E's, and supports automation system enhancements across responsible assets.Other duties as assignedEducation/Years of Experience:Required: Associates degree or equivalent experience and minimum of six (6) years' experience in oil & gas industryPreferred: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field and minimum ten (10) years of progressive experience in field operations/construction or other technical specialty fieldPhysical and Environment Work Requirements:Must be willing to:Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spacesCarry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as neededStand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of timeWork at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)Use hand toolsShift/Work Hours/Travel Requirements:Available to work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, weekend shifts and holidays as neededMay be required to work overtime, 10-12 hour shifts and travel between Williams locations with occasional overnight staysOther Requirements:Must possess valid State Driver's License and clean driving recordDemonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as a main priorityProficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skillsWhy Choose Williams?We are committed to providing our employees with competitive compensation and benefits as part of your Total Rewards package to help protect your current and future physical, emotional, and financial health.
