Site Surveys
Read and perform installation of wireless and wired IP networks following the detailed outdoor and indoor Wi-Fi site surveys, including large-scale outdoor surveys in oil and gas refineries and chemical plants. Wi-Fi Plant Network Design and Commissioning
Support the Wireless and Industrial Consultant during the commissioning of engineering studies of designing Wi-Fi Plant Networks (WPN) in industrial settings. Responsible for the configuration of switches, routers, firewalls, outdoor mesh access points, Wireless LAN controller, and Windows OS industrial tablets. Ensure robust and efficient wireless communication within plant environments. Participate in factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing and commissioning. Secure Network Integration:
Deploy and integrate secure wireless networks within large manufacturing organizations' Process Control Domain (PCD) networks, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. Training and Support
Participate in training for clients and internal teams on wireless technologies and best practices. Offer ongoing support to ensure optimal network performance. Business Development
Collaborate with sales teams to develop quotes and respond to RFQ's. Provide technical expertise, when needed, during sales presentations, helping position Puffer-Sweiven as a leader in advanced Wireless and Industrial Networking solutions. QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior Wireless/RF Engineer, with a strong background in deploying, and maintaining wireless and networking solutions across various industries. CISCO Certification (CCNA) required. Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) a plus Skills and Competencies
Proficient in Wi-Fi protocols (802.11 standards) and LAN/WAN configurations Knowledgeable on IT/OT cybersecurity practices Experience with site survey tools such as Ekahau and AirMagnet are a plus. Effective problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues. Proven experience in managing and leading technical service teams. Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering successful projects. Strong communication and documentation skills for procedure development and team collaboration.
