Business Analyst Hedge Fund

As a member of the Information Technology Group, this position will play a key role in Investments and Research projects, with a concentration on our hedge fund strategies. We are looking for an individual who can document, manage system requirements, integration, quality assurance and implementation. The ideal candidate will possess extensive business and systems analysis skills and a solid understanding of asset management and capital markets. Responsibilities:Gather and document business requirements and specificationsWork with business team to determine priority, scope and schedule for user requestsUnderstand business processes, identify problems and opportunitiesManage requirements change and maintain requirements traceabilityConduct business and systems requirements analysis at code and data level, such as data mapping and data conversion analysisStrong knowledge of order management systems (OMS)Identify opportunities for improvement in the business architectureParticipates in developing user acceptance testingDemonstrate client focus and relationship management skills Qualifications:Minimum of 5-10 years of experience working as an IT Business Systems Analyst in the financial services industryExperience in the hedge fund industry, preferably with a hedge fund or asset managerStrong knowledge and functional experience in Equities, Equity Derivatives, Currencies and Fixed Income asset classesWorking knowledge of General Ledger/Fund Accounting systems, Profit-and-Loss calculationsExperience with third party vendor software solutions for hedge fund administrationPrior direct responsibility writing structured business requirements, functional specifications, test plans and test casesTechnical background in data integration in the financial services industrySolid understanding of system development methodologies and techniques, and an excellent grasp of database concepts and principlesExperience with SQL (Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase)Excellent written and verbal communications skills; Strong analytical and problem solving skills
