Position: Director of Nursing (DON)
Location: Rio Rancho, NM Facility Type: Skilled Nursing Facility Contract Length: 13 Weeks Contract Type: Travel
Key Responsibilities: Lead, manage, and support the daily operations of the nursing department Ensure delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care in compliance with facility policies and state/federal regulations Oversee hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluation of nursing staff Conduct internal audits and quality assurance reviews to maintain compliance and improve outcomes Collaborate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary teams for effective care planning Implement and monitor infection control practices and health/safety protocols Manage nursing department budgets, staffing ratios, and resource utilization Promote continuous quality improvement initiatives and performance enhancement Serve as a clinical resource and respond to urgent or crisis situations when necessary Compensation (Weekly): Total Non-taxable Pay: $1,246 Total Taxable Pay: $1,640 Gross Weekly Pay: $2,886 Qualifications: Active, unencumbered RN license in NM Or compact state license. Minimum of 3 years of nursing leadership experience, preferably in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting Prior experience as DON or ADON strongly preferred Strong knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations Proven leadership, communication, and team-building skills Current BLS/CPR certification
