Application Software Engineer
As an Application Software Engineer specializing in COTS support, you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, performance, and integration of our essential Commercial Off-The-Shelf applications. You will leverage your strong technical and problem-solving skills to diagnose complex issues, perform deep dives into application code and databases, and collaborate with vendors and internal teams to implement effective solutions. A key expectation for this role is to become a subject matter expert (SME), developing a deep understanding of the application's functionality and underlying architecture. $40/hr - $55/hr Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401K retirement account access with employer matching. Skills and Requirements: 1+ year of professional experience in software development, system integration, or supporting enterprise-level Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications by investigating existing codebases and database structures Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript Experience or familiarity with web technologies like HTML, CSS, and frameworks like Angular, React, or Vue.js Ability to code/script & debug/troubleshoot Ability to analyze and interpret existing application codebases, logs, and database schemas for diagnostic purposes Familiarity with API integration (e.g., REST, SOAP) for connecting COTS applications Must have SQL server experience and experience developing and running queries Experience with Windows Server based operating systems Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including designers, product managers, vendors, and other engineers Knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile Understanding and experience with MQTT protocol Proficiency in working with JSON for data interchange
