This position will be under the supervision of the Senior Director, Tax and is responsible for overseeing the tax department's compliance and reporting functions for a variety of entity types and taxes, ensuring proper nexus determinations, timely and accurate reporting and payments to Federal, State and Local jurisdictions, presenting
sound conclusions on research topics and implementing results. In addition, responsibilities include preparing tax forecasts, the quarterly and annual global tax provision calculations, journal entries and tax budgets, as well as overseeing communications with various taxing jurisdictions and auditors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Overseeing Tax Department's compliance function by continually monitoring, updating and maintaining due date tracking system and workflow schedules. Managing internal and external information requests and third-party engagement communications. Utilizing software and technology to ensure efficiencies in use of time and resources in order to meet compliance goals and timely and accurate reporting. Reviewing work product deliverables prepared by third party tax advisors.
  • Reviewing monthly tax projections based on most recent GAAP forecasts and tax planning scenarios to ensure accurate ETR and cash flow forecasts. Preparation of the U.S. domestic income tax provision calculations with a comprehensive understanding of ASC 740 tax accounting standards as applied to global income tax provisions. Review calculations for Accounting for Uncertain Tax Positions.
  • Overseeing and ensuring timely and accurate responses to tax notices and auditor requests to ensure successful resolutions.
  • Presenting comprehensive conclusions on research memos on various Federal and State tax topics to assist in tax planning and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Driving the development and implementation of sound tax policies and procedures and maintaining strong tax internal controls. Formulating solutions to create efficiencies and establish "best practices".
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree with a Concentration in Accounting required. Master's Degree with a concentration in Tax, a plus.
  • CPA required.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of relevant tax accounting experience required.
  • Big 4, National CPA firm, timeshare or large corporate tax department experience required.
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills
  • Strong U.S. tax technical skills. Knowledge of U.S. international tax concepts a plus.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ASC 740 and Accounting for Uncertain Tax Positions
  • Technical knowledge of diverse and complex tax issues
  • Demonstrated ability to extract and analyze information from large data sets; past experience driving efficiency by employing latest technology tools available
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate with all levels of management and staff.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and support the core values of the Company
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Power Point.
  • Additionally, experience with a tax research and tax preparation software, as well as fixed asset tracking tool.
  • Past experience working within a corporate ERP/Microsoft Dynamics 360/SAP a plus
  • Solid workpaper documentation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and meet internal and external deadlines
  • Strong supervisory and mentoring skills
