Job Responsibilities
  • Assists pharmacist in total prescription filling process; data entry, inventory monitoring, counting, labeling, ordering, stocking, filing, and selling of prescribed and OTC products.
  • OTC merchandising
  • Help health care providers and patients in person and by phone; answers questions and requests; referring to pharmacist when appropriate.
  • Comply with state and federal drug laws, KHN policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician
  • 2 years retail or inpatient pharmacy technician experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
Essential Job Functions
  • Assists pharmacist in total prescription filling process; data entry, inventory monitoring, counting, labeling, ordering, stocking, filing, and selling of prescribed and OTC products.
  • Coordinates care with a multi-disciplinary team, communicates directly with patients and caregivers to ensure timely and accurate filling of prescriptions and documentation as required.
  • Assists the pharmacists with supportive activities and processes required to dispense high-touch specialty oncology medications
  • Responsible for packaging, preparation, and distribution of medications, inventory control, customer service and maintaining pharmacy records
  • Identifies potential medication-related access problems and works with patients and the pharmacy team to solve these problems in an efficient and patient-centered manner.
  • Builds positive working relationships and communicates with the oncology team and patients in an effective and positive manner
  • Actively participates in learning and following all policy and procedures required to maintain Specialty Pharmacy accreditation
  • Comply with state and federal drug laws
  • Other duties as assigned
