Commissioning Senior Technical Project Manager (Electrical) The

Commissioning Senior Technical Project Manager

will lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of end-to-end commissioning for critical facilities, ensuring compliance with client requirements and applicable regulations. This includes participating in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) design reviews and overseeing the functional testing of complex systems. The role emphasizes program development, risk management, and stakeholder collaboration to deliver high-quality results in mission-critical environments. This position requires a combination of on-site leadership during project initiation and remote oversight as projects progress. The successful candidate will be self-directed, collaborate effectively across teams, and ensure operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Program Development Develop tailored approaches, processes, and standards for first-of-kind program implementations. Understand and adapt client requirements to optimize project outcomes. Create and refine testing, commissioning, and functional performance plans. Project Management and Planning: Oversee pre-construction elements such as project initiation, RFIs, and submittals. Coordinate resource allocation and material forecasting to align with project schedules. Prepare progress and final commissioning reports. Team and Client Coordination: Mobilize project teams and coordinate staffing needs. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering long-term relationships. Lead meetings and provide status updates on project risks and resolutions. Quality Assurance and Testing: Oversee factory witness testing, on-site startup, and inspections. Develop QA/QC plans, checklists, and test procedures to meet project guidelines. Utilize technical equipment (e.g., power quality meters, infrared cameras) for diagnostics. Risk Management and Adaptation: Proactively identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies. Handover and Transition: Train project teams for seamless transition of commissioning responsibilities. Ensure successful project closeout and delivery. Financial and Stakeholder Management Prepare, monitor, and control project budgets, ensuring profitability. Identify and address scope changes requiring additional fees or change orders. Maintain and build client relationships to drive satisfaction and identify new opportunities. Team Leadership and Development Provide mentorship and direction to project teams. Assist in developing organizational policies and procedures to enhance performance. Qualifications Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or related field

OR

two years of hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, or controls infrastructure in

data centers. At least eight years of additional experience with infrastructure testing, validation, and troubleshooting. Required Skills and Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction, commissioning, and project management processes in mission-critical environments. Expertise in MEP systems and testing protocols. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Proficient with MS Office Suite and other project management tools. Exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with clients and teams. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Travel and Physical Requirements Travel:

Up to 75% during initial project stages, reducing to 25-50%. Domestic and international travel may be required. Physical Demands:

Frequent movement through various environments (e.g., confined spaces, temperature extremes). Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
