Founded in 1980, Urban Resource Institute (URI) is committed to the vision of a world free of domestic violence, homelessness, poverty, and trauma, where individuals, families, and communities are safe, stable, and thriving. URI works across the spectrum of prevention, intervention and services to empower individuals, families, and communities, particularly communities of color and other disenfranchised populations, to increase their safety and resiliency. URI is the oldest licensed provider of domestic violence shelter and services in New York State, with 40 years of impact capped in the last five years with significant achievements and expansion leading to its position as the largest provider of domestic violence shelter services in the country. This expansion has afforded URI the ability to serve individuals who have traditionally experienced barriers to accessing shelter services, such as singles and families with pets.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The CVSP Program Director is responsible for the overall oversight, administration, direction, fiscal and management of non-residential case management, outreach and advocacy services for the OVS and DSS-funded CVSP staff. This position supervises the CVSP team who work in mid-town and the CVSP team who work at the Bronx Family Justice Center.
Salary: $80,000-$85,000
POSITION REQUIREMENTS & ESSENTIAL SKILLS
Provide inclusive leadership and management to the CVSP teams and create opportunities for professional development and provide comprehensive oversight of the program’s operations
Cultivate leadership and professional development for staff, including facilitating growth opportunities. This includes but is not limited to promoting career pathways and promotions within URI, mentorship and internship opportunities, and training targets incorporated into individual staffing goals and objectives
Provide overall direction for strategic learnings and development to the crisis intervention, advocacy and case management
Provide direct supervision to the Program Managers of CVSP and provide clinical triage support to the entire team for high risk cases
Carry a small caseload of high-risk cases with complex system involvement as needed
Lead weekly case conferencing and ensure quick responses to survivors who are enrolled in the program
Develop strong relationships and liaise regularly with community partners to ensure strong collaboration.
Develop and achieve annual department and department-level goals in alignment with the theory of change and logic models as well as funder deliverables and in support of the mission and agency-wide strategic plan
Collaborate closely with other Justice Initiative program leaders and staff along with other divisions within URI
Work closely with the Senior Director of Economic Justice to create innovative program development that is aligned with survivor-led, equity-based solutions specifically for underserved communities
Actively participate in outreach events in the community to raise awareness about domestic violence and other services offered by CVSP
Regularly participate in partner meetings, including JI leadership team meetings, specific collaboration meetings for program disciplines or roles, and ongoing training
Participate in new hire recruitment process, especially with post-hire onboarding, training, and case shadowing.
Adhere to confidentiality practices and protocols.
Always ensure appropriate coverage on the team and manage team schedule, alongside CVSP Program Assistant
Work collaboratively with the teams to monitor budget performance, track progress on budget to actuals in partnership with team members
Participate in fund development activities for the program and collaborate actively with URI’s Development and MarComm as well as Government Affairs Departments
Assist with the development and implementation of consistent standards, policies and practices regarding client services and other agency protocols.
Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state and local regulations as well as agency and program policies, and compliance in meeting performance measures based on organizational targets
Oversee and coordinate the day to day functions of the program, including but not limited to providing regular supervision and guidance to staff
Manage grant contracts and budgets
Increase the awareness of the organization’s DV services by engaging in activities such as, but not limited to, presenting at conferences and/or other speaking engagements
Ensure the accurate entering of data by staff on a timely basis for program evaluation and reports
Provide crisis intervention to clients and support in the safety planning process
Attend coalitions, taskforces, working groups and committees and regularly and take on leadership positions.

SPECIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field with 2-3 years of relevant experience working with DV & GBV survivors OR Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work or related field with 2-3 yeas of relevant experience working with DV & GBV survivors
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Strong commitment to equity and social justice, including a focus on self-awareness and engagement of continuous learning around issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion; high level of Emotional Intelligence (EQ)
Demonstrated sensitivity and experience with and/or knowledge of domestic violence within and against disenfranchised communities, including individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and/or HIV-affected, the elderly, and individuals with mental health issues
Must possess a demonstrated ability in delivering client services, including communication and listening skills, understanding of human interaction and personality development, writing and recording case documentation, and skills in group counseling
Strong organizational skills that reflect an ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly
Exceptional interpersonal, critical thinking, communication, and writing skills, and the ability to develop positive and productive relationships
Superb and working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response
Must have the ability to be flexible with work schedule due to program needs
Acknowledge and application of self-care and work-life balance for self and others
SPECIFICATIONS FOR WORK ENVIRONMENT
CVSP’s office are located in the Grand Central area and at the Bronx Family Justice Center
The work environment varies given work location but generally is bright and medium in environmental noise, medium in work-pace, and high in work volume and diversity of initiatives/tasks
Work schedule includes three days working in the office or across URI program sites and two days working from home; flexibility is required to meet on-site demands throughout the week
The Program Director is expected to work out of the Family Justice Center every other week
