Growing regional food wholesaler just north of Boston is seeking a Buyer manage the procurement of products for the company. This includes vendor sourcing and qualification, pricing negotiations, and ensuring inventory levels meet demand.
Qualified candidates must have experience working for food wholesaler/distributor.

Responsibilities: Work closely with vendors on a daily basis; ordering product, negotiating pricing and term, and managing ongoing relationships. Prepare PO’s, track shipments, and ensure customer satisfaction. Work closely with inventory to coordinate orders and ensure optimal inventory levels to meet customer demand. Qualify and source new vendors for new product lines. Analyze regional markets to ensure competitive pricing. Prepare credit memos for damaged, incorrect items arriving from suppliers, resolve any shipment or cost discrepancies. Requirements: 3-5 years of purchasing experience of finished product and within a food wholesale/distribution setting required. Strong systems skills, ability to manipulate data in MS Excel. Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships; excellent written, communication skills, strong negotiating acumen. Spanish speaking a plus. Seniority level
