The mission of Casa Familiar is to enhance quality of life for people living in underserved and underrepresented communities. To reach this mission, Casa provides over 40 services and projects to address this border community's unique and evolving challenges with a multi-dimensional approach. Who is the Youth and Senior Services Lead? The Youth and Senior Services Lead is a professional who plays a vital role in developing, organizing, and implementing programs and services that cater to the needs of older adults and youth in Southbay San Diego. This role involves both client-facing and behind-the-scenes work, providing support to clients and staff to successfully connect youth and seniors to Casa Familiar programs and services. The lead will support multiple programs and initiatives, which include academic tutoring, youth mentorship, summer camp programs, juvenile diversion, and social/emotional enrichment for school-aged youth living in Southbay San Diego. Additionally, this role will support older adult services, including but not limited to senior onsite social services, personal development classes, workshops, assistance with social benefit program applications and advocacy, and physical and recreational activities to nurture a happier and healthier senior community. This role is vital in ensuring that both departments operate seamlessly, are well integrated, and can successfully connect clients to the programs and services they need to thrive. Make a Difference through Action • Builds and maintains strong relationships with seniors, youth, families, community organizations, and service providers to connect clients with resources and support networks. • May advocate for seniors and youth, addressing their concerns and connecting them with appropriate services. • Serve as a liaison between youth, seniors, their families, community organizations, and relevant stakeholders. • In partnership with the leadership team, this role will plan, organize, and implement diverse programs, activities, and events for youth and seniors, addressing their unique needs and interests. • Support with all necessary grants and program reporting and proactively communicate trends and best practices. • Collect data, track program outcomes, evaluate program effectiveness, and make necessary improvements. • Assists department leadership with outreach plans for programs. • Attend and actively participate in partner meetings beneficial to youth and senior programs (meetings may occur outside regular work hours). • Leads problem-solving when issues arise with program participants. Ensures appropriate communication with those involved, including communication with partners when applicable. Delivering Results • Serve as an advocate for underserved communities, representing Casa Familiar in community forums, meetings, and collaborative initiatives. • This leader must be able to deliver presentations internally and externally with comfort, confidence, and clarity in both English and Spanish. • Ensure staff and organization maintain certifications and training needed to provide services, such as DOJ accreditation. • Ensure ethical and professional case management is provided to program participants. • Support Casa Familiar events by participating in various committees. • Other duties as assigned. Ideal Candidate Qualifications and Qualities: • A bachelor's degree in social work, organizational leadership, or any additional field relevant to Casa Familiar's mission and programs is required. • Minimum 2 years of experience with community organizing and working alongside underserved and underrepresented communities. • Minimum 1 year of experience planning and implementing community-based programming and services. • Deep passion and commitment to advancing racial, economic, and social justice for underserved and underrepresented communities. Essential Skills and Requirements • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Teams preferred. • This position is 100% in-office and required to support multiple Casa Familiar locations in Southbay San Diego. • A valid California driver's license and proof of auto insurance are required. • The ability to obtain a California Class C driver's license is required (no exceptions can be made with this requirement). • The ability to obtain a DOJ Probationary Clearance is required (no exceptions can be made with this requirement). $25.00 per hour Additional Information: This position requires sitting at a desk or workstation, walking, standing, climbing stairs, hearing, speaking, being able to lift to 25 lb., and being able to drive to do other errands pertaining to organizational operations. A background check is required. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.
