What Are We Looking For
The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking and practical change-maker; a leader who brings calm, clarity, and diplomacy to complex civic challenges. They possess:
A leadership style grounded in integrity, high emotional intelligence, and collaboration, and a proven ability to unify diverse perspectives around a shared vision.
Proven track record in economic development, housing policy (including RHNA mandates), and community revitalization, with a track record of driving revenue growth and reinvestment.
Skill in developing fiscally sound budgets and resourceful solutions that turn constraints into opportunities.
The ability to facilitate a comprehensive citywide visioning process, aligning goals with the City’s strategic priorities and community aspirations.
In addition to leading strategy and operations, the City Manager will be expected to:
Strengthen internal organizational culture and develop future leaders through succession planning and mentorship.
Champion transparency and accessibility, building trust through open communication with the public, staff, and Council.
Secure funding and forge partnerships, pursuing grants and intergovernmental collaborations that accelerate progress and innovation.
Stay aligned with broader systems, including regional, state, and federal, that shape the City's opportunities and responsibilities.
