The Director of Program Operations plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of programs by providing leadership, guidance, and oversight. Additionally, this position supports the oversight of all program operations, including program delivery, resource allocation, and project timelines. The Director of Program Operations will split their time between the Glenwood Springs office, various program locations in the field, and external meetings. Responsibilities and Duties Programming
Identify, develop, document, and implement best practices among programs to potentially standardize practices across all programs. Manages program systems and processes with program leads and program managers to enhance operational efficiency and effective program delivery. Oversees the use of program resources, including budgets, materials, and facilities. Identifies challenges related to documentation across programs and addresses those challenges through the training of program leads and staff. This will enable program leads and managers to support program staff in meeting their documentation responsibilities. Oversees grassroots community recruitment efforts throughout the year. Provides oversight of all programs in identifying trends in enrollment and demand. Ensures programs have full enrollment and works with program teams to create a plan for open spots. Manages the development of the new lead tier model, supervising programs with the lead model. Fosters a learning environment that supports program leads in gaining new leadership skills. Together, the Director of Programs and Innovation and the Director of Program Operations will annually assess the distribution of the supervision of program leads and managers. Supports the Program Leadership Team by facilitating the meetings and trainings in collaboration with the Director of Programs and Innovation.
Partnerships & Community Opportunities
Leads Valley Settlement’s participation in community events by identifying objectives of participation, coordinating Valley Settlement staff, and leading any communications associated with Valley Settlement involvement. In collaboration with the Director of Programs and Innovation, supports or leadsnew strategic initiativesand special projectsto advance programs, pilot projects, or respond to community events. Ensures community partnerships are being built to support and enhance current programs.
Data Tracking & Evaluation Support
Guides the collection and input of program data by monitoring tracking systems, populating semester dashboards, and working alongside program leads and managers to ensure data accuracy. Ensures the standardization and accuracy of data collection between programs with periodic sampling of data sets. Develops training and supports as needed to ensure data accuracy. Supports the rapid cycle learning process with programs, with the guidance of the Director of Programs and Innovation. Supports program evaluation in collaboration with the Director of Programs and Innovation.
Development
Works with the Development Team to ensure accuracy on program reporting. Participates in funder site visits, donor education, and program presentations to ensure Valley Settlement’s programs and approach are highlighted.
HR
In collaboration with the Director of Programs and Innovation and the Director of Finance and Operations, this position will address personnel issues, organizational policies, and program procedures.
Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred, or at least 5 years of supervisory experience in a team management role Experience in early childhood development, adult education, and working with families Bilingual in Spanish and English Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Drive/Sheets Have and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license Must have a reliable vehicle for field work and to attend external meetings (mileage reimbursed) Qualifications and Skills Possess strong time management and organization skills Strong in task delegation, progress monitoring, and follow-up Able to multi-task and follow through on time-sensitive deliverables with attention to detail Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation skills Experience working in an inclusive and collaborative environment Approach work with a creative and strategic mindset Able to problem solve in the moment Excellent at reflecting, listening, and validating what is heard in conversation Able to easily build trust and relationships with individuals, community agencies, and businesses Adaptable and flexible Anti-Discrimination Practices: Valley Settlement does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status in any of its activities or operations.
