Purpose Statement:
Plans, organizes, coordinates, schedules, and directs engineering activities and project management requirements for major projects of significant complexity. Responsible for personnel reporting to this position on the projects. Demonstrates a proven record of success in managing projects of varying complexity and can assume supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the department manager and/or field supervisors. Essential Functions/Responsibilities: Provides support and guidance with the department's assignments and projects to ensure requirements and timeframes are met. Manages selected projects involving installation, improvement, or maintenance of gas systems, including design, cost estimates, approvals, scheduling, material ordering, budget management, and project closure. Reviews and evaluates new business projects, distribution renewal projects, and coordinates with contracting agencies, utility companies, and other stakeholders. Assists in interpreting codes and regulations, provides technical assistance to architects, engineers, and customers, and prepares standards and procedures to ensure compliance. Serves as an alternate for activities such as attending utility meetings, operating at the Propane Air facility during shutdowns, and covering absences of supervisors. Other Functions: Adheres to all company policies and maintains a safe, clean work environment. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience. 2-5 years as a Project Engineer II or equivalent engineering experience of 12 years. Knowledge of NFPA 58, UFC, local plumbing codes, and CFR regulations. Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project. Licenses and Certifications: May require access certification for secured facilities. Valid driver's license. Preferred Skills and Experience: Experience with GIS and CADD. Professional Engineering license and PMP certification are preferred. Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and analytical skills. High integrity and confidentiality. Professional demeanor and effective communication skills across all levels. Adaptability and teamwork orientation. Working Conditions: Standard office environment, with occasional weekend or evening work as needed.
