The student will interface with students seeking job opportunities and will assist with the Career Network. They will welcome students entering and leaving the Transfer and Career Center, help with marketing, and set up events for both departments. If needed, the student will also assist with on-campus clothing closet activities. The

Federal Work Study Program

(FWS) is a federally-funded financial aid program offering subsidized part-time employment to eligible students, helping them meet postsecondary financial needs. City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) complies with the Department of Education’s regulations regarding the FWS program, enabling students to benefit from this opportunity. PRIMARY OBJECTIVE The FWS program encourages students to gain experience in their prospective fields by placing them in relevant departments and areas aligned with their studies whenever possible. Wages earned can be used towards educational and living expenses. FWS jobs are available in academic departments, laboratories, libraries, administrative offices, student centers, and several off-campus locations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Assist at the front desk by greeting students, faculty, and staff entering the Transfer and Career Center. Support the staff with daily office functions. Contribute to various projects and assignments as needed. Provide general office support, including filing, faxing, photocopying, and data entry. Follow City Colleges of Chicago Customer Service Standards. QUALIFICATIONS: Strong oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe PDF, and web-based tools such as Canva. Excellent problem-solving skills, personal motivation, self-management, and attention to detail. Self-motivated with a high sense of responsibility to complete tasks timely and make significant progress independently. Eligibility Requirements: Must be 16 years or older, have work permit consent, and be eligible to work in the U.S. Must be actively attending one of the City Colleges of Chicago. Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit semester hours. Must be pursuing an approved educational credential, degree, or certificate. Must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA (waived for first-semester new students). Must be in good standing with no academic restrictions.
