Early Adventures Child Care Assistant Site Supervisor FAIR Pilgrim Lane Elementary School Level 4 of the Program Assistants Terms and Conditions of Employment ($20.60 - $26.54 per hour based on qualification/experience), plus $2000 hiring bonus availability for new staff. Additional yearly stipend of up to $3750 42 weeks per year, 40 hours per week, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (hours vary); 6:30 am - 6:00 pm - straight shift hours vary

RESPONSIBILITIES Support the Early Adventures Program Mission to: Provide a fun, safe enriching experience in a respectful and nurturing environment and promote life-long learning skills in all children and youth during out of school time. Support the Program Goals by: 1. Providing opportunities for children to succeed both academically and socially through the collaboration of the school and community resources.? 2. Provide a secure and inclusive environment in which all children may explore the world around them. 3. Provide opportunities from which all children learn to make choices that contribute to both their growth in life-long learning skills and their development into becoming respectful and responsible adults. 4. Support families by providing community resources. 5. Foster the individual growth and development of all children and youth. 6. Provide children with new experiences and involvement in their community.

Maintain professionalism and confidentiality regarding staff, student and their families. Implement a philosophy of education and administration that is compatible with Robbinsdale Area Schools missions. Assists Site Supervisor in:

Supervising Early Adventures program development and operations. Developing and implementing an effective, enriching, and inclusive environment and curriculum. Maintaining a fiscally sound site budget Training, supervising and evaluating site staff and assisting in implementing staff development and team work. The overall supervision of children and in staffing ratio. Developing effective guidance policies for all children regardless of ability or special needs. Establishing effective communication with children, their families, Early Adventures and school staff and community. Directing the development, implementation and evaluation of the Early Adventures site. Must be able to see and hear children to keep them safe in a childcare environment Must supervise indoors and outdoors daily

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

An assistant site supervisor in the Early Adventures program

is preferred

to have the following qualifications:

Completed BA or BS in early childhood, school-age education or related field, preferred but not mandatory. Credit hours in child and youth development or other areas related to young children, two year Associate Degree, two years of college in a related field, or equivalent, with minimum of 6 credit hours in child and youth development or other areas related to preschool programming preferred. Two years experience in supervising the development of a related program. Successful experience working with children ages 4-5 years in groups. Experience in staff supervision, training and curriculum development. Evidence of strong written and oral communication and organizational skills. Demonstrated competency in conflict resolution, crisis management skills, commitment to multicultural, gender fair and disability awareness. Ability to encourage shared leadership, team building and collaborative working relationships within the site, building and overall program.
