GPS Field Operations Supervisor

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for building
GPS machine control models (Topcon) , conducting
drone-based site surveys , and managing day-to-day
crew dispatch and field operations . The ideal candidate combines technical construction knowledge with strong leadership and coordination skills to ensure efficient, high-quality project execution. Key Responsibilities: GPS Modeling & Site Technology
Build and manage
3D GPS machine control models
using
Topcon 3D Office
and
AutoCAD Civil 3D .
Collaborate with engineers and surveyors to ensure models align with plans and real-world site conditions.
Maintain, upload, and update GPS models across multiple projects and machines.
Drone Surveying & Site Mapping
Operate drones to capture aerial data for
topographic modeling, volumetric analysis, and site progress tracking .
Process flight data into usable deliverables using tools like DroneDeploy or Pix4D.
Ensure drone operations meet
FAA Part 107
compliance standards.
Field Supervision & Dispatch
Daily
dispatch of field crews
(25+ employees), coordinating schedules, equipment, and labor needs.
Visit job sites to oversee implementation of models, verify progress, and resolve issues.
Monitor performance, attendance, and safety standards across the field team.
Leadership & Training
Train operators and field crews on GPS systems, layout, and drone-based mapping.
Act as a liaison between field crews, project managers, and company leadership.
Contribute to hiring decisions, team development, and field crew support.
Qualifications: 3–5+ years of experience in GPS model building and construction technology.
Proficiency with
Topcon 3D Office ,
AutoCAD Civil 3D , and machine control systems.
Prior experience in
dispatching field crews
and managing job site logistics.
Strong understanding of earthwork operations, site layout, and grading plans.
Experience with
drone mapping ; FAA Part 107 certification preferred (or must obtain within 60 days).
Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Valid driver’s license; travel to job sites required.
Compensation & Benefits: Salary:
Starting at
$100,000+ annually , DOE
