Starting Salary: $110,000-120,000 - based on experience!
Pace Center for Girls is dedicated to transforming the lives of girls and young women. With over 35 years of history, Pace now serves over 3,500 girls annually in the southeast. Our evidence-based programs focus on holistic health and academic skills for girls aged 11-18. We believe in providing a caring and supportive environment for girls to succeed and break generational cycles of poverty and violence.
Pace is currently seeking an exceptional leader to serve as our Executive Director. The right person will be committed to the long-term success of the program and possess a passion for our mission. In this role, we need a leader who nurtures team development, drives operational excellence, and executes organizational goals while promoting a culture of strengths-based leadership.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Required
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Social Services, Education, Non-Profit Management, or equivalent work experience
Minimum 7-10 years of experience managing multiple programs in a non-profit organization; child-serving organization preferred
Proficiency in office applications such as Word, Excel, etc.; capable of compiling data and reports
Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to represent Pace at speaking engagements
Experience working with Boards and Governance, utilizing team building and problem-solving skills to maintain Board stability
Success in development and grant-writing
Experience handling complex financials and fiscal responsibility
Current Florida driver’s license

Availability to work evenings and weekends as required
Ability to travel by automobile, plane, train, etc.; occasional overnight travel
Preferred
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Services, Education, or Non-Profit Management
Experience managing multiple programs in a child-serving agency, especially in at-risk environments
Roles and Responsibilities
Leadership and Advocacy
Demonstrate leadership and advocacy for the agency at all levels, including:
Advocating for the needs of girls in the local community
Participating in special assignments and projects
Providing input on policies, procedures, and strategic directions
Cultivating relationships with stakeholders such as legislatures, city and county officials, business interests, child-serving agencies, Juvenile Justice Council, and school boards
Achieving measurable results in line with Standards of Excellence
Focusing on agency needs and balancing voices to make optimal decisions for girls and staff
Modeling and inspiring staff, girls, and the board with the agency's values
Human Resources
Motivate and inspire passion for the agency, mission, and excellence
Select and place qualified staff in all positions
Guide middle managers on strategies to meet retention goals
Provide growth and development opportunities for staff
Supervise, counsel, and evaluate staff
Develop and implement succession plans
Resolve employee relations issues amicably
Create an adaptable learning environment
Maximize staff utilization through clear duties, performance standards, reviews, and competitive salaries
Ensure compliance with Human Resources policies and procedures
Finance
Manage finances within the approved budget
Understand monthly financial reports, identify trends/discrepancies
Assist the Board with financial oversight
Prepare budgets with solid assumptions in line with Board policies
Follow finance policies and ensure timely compliance
Provide contract info to assist accurate monthly financial statements
Ensure controls and audits of financial processes
Development
Build a supporter base matching the community's capacity
Maintain and grow community supporters and donors
Secure diverse funding sources
Reflect agency values in community PR efforts
Follow Development Policies and Procedures
Program
Ensure program compliance with DJJ, School Board, and grant contracts
Establish referral sources and manage waiting lists
Achieve outcomes exceeding contract standards for girls
Demonstrate gender-responsive programming and train staff accordingly
Provide core services per agency guidelines
Align new initiatives with the mission
Maintain successful QA reviews
Follow Program Policies and Procedures
Governance and Boards
Develop a community-reflective board
Recruit, train, and develop board members
Provide orientation for new members
Guide the board within guidelines
Facilitate board retreats and meetings
Develop and implement succession plans
Collaborate on strategic planning
Represent the Board of Trustees
Perform other duties as assigned
