Key Responsibilities: Deal Origination (70% of time) Contact and have conversations with business owners, presenting the opportunities and engaging in discussions about M&A opportunities for their business, ultimately originating acquisition opportunities for our clients Present client objectives, understand business owner objectives, communicate clients’ interest and distinct advantages they provide as an investor Qualifying businesses, gathering key information on ownership structure, revenue, EBITDA, customer concentration, product mix and growth, share with client Facilitate introductions and conversations with business owners and clients to further explore the M&A opportunity Build and maintain long-term relationships with business owners to present future opportunities Account Management (20%) Participate in preparation process to launch new engagements Participate in client calls to give them updates and progress on current engagements Develop and share a written profile on each opportunity to present to clients Manage a pipeline of opportunities from origination to deal close Each client engagement has a deal team composed of a lead, senior bd, research professional, and potentially a junior business development representative. Meet regularly with your team to provide feedback and direction to improve the effectiveness and success of the team Ensure a consistent flow of new business owner targets from research meeting clients ongoing criteria Develop knowledge of client sectors and target areas Qualifications & Experience An undergraduate degree preferably within business with a history of strong academic performance 3+ years direct experience in Mergers & Acquisitions business development or corporate development with track record of success OR 5+ years of experience in a consultive selling role to C-Suite level executives or business owners Superior organizational and time management skills, and the ability to efficiently manage multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment Excellent verbal and written communication, listening, problem-solving, interpersonal and relationship-building skills Proficiency in Deal Cloud and Outreach a plus. Experience in CRM systems required and proficiency in MS Office applications Seniority level
