Your Role

As our VP of Development and Community Engagement, you’ll:

Lead comprehensive fundraising strategies to support Kerr’s mission and achieve bold revenue goals Personally steward relationships with major donors, securing gifts of $50,000+ Mentor a dynamic team of development professionals and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability Oversee grants, planned giving, appeals, campaigns, and signature events Drive community engagement and volunteer initiatives that amplify impact and visibility Collaborate with executive leadership and the Governing and Foundation Board members to cultivate lasting partnerships Champion clear, compelling communication across donor and community channels

What You Bring

7–10 years of progressive leadership in nonprofit development, with proven success in major gift fundraising Deep familiarity with fundraising best practices, CRM systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce), and donor stewardship strategies Ability to galvanize donors, staff, board members, and community stakeholders around a shared vision A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (advanced degree or CFRE a plus) Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion—and Kerr’s core mission of compassion and support

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, development management or other closely related discipline required; advanced degree or CFRE preferred. Minimum 7–10 years of progressive fundraising and leadership experience, preferably in human services or nonprofit sectors. A passion for the mission of Albertina Kerr and its values Proven track record of securing major gifts and managing donor pipelines. Experience with donor databases and CRM systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, DonorPerfect) to track, analyze, and optimize fundraising performance. Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills. Experience working with boards and senior leadership on fundraising strategy.
