Manager, Director Development - Experienced Western Golf Association/ Evans Scholars Foundation Reports to: Senior Director, Director Development Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000 plus performance-based bonus Position Description: As a key member of the Director Development Team, the Manager, Director Development is responsible for supporting and liaising with the WGA Directors, primarily in the West part of the country to advance support the 2030 Ambitions. This person will be responsible for coordinating, planning, and executing strategies to deepen the Evans Scholars Foundation’s (ESF) relationships with WGA Directors and organizational partners. This position will work closely with the Senior Director of Director Development to also identify and cultivate the organization’s pipeline of major donors and future volunteer leadership. WGA Directors are the volunteer leaders for the Western Golf Association (WGA) and Evans Scholars Foundation (ESF). WGA Directors advocate for youth caddie opportunities, raise awareness for the Evans Scholars Program, provide personal financial support, raise funds from within their clubs and network and mentor Evans Scholarship applicants and current Evans Scholars. They also support the WGA in the administration and operation of its world-class professional and amateur golf tournaments. There are currently 1,199 WGA Directors and approximately 200 of these individuals are in the West region (Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Arizona and California primarily). This role can initially be based in either Glenview, IL, or Denver, CO. If it is Glenview, IL, frequent travel to the West would be required, and the expectation would be to relocate to Denver,CO, after a year. If it is Denver, CO, frequent travel to Glenview, IL, would be required for the first year. About the Evans Scholars Foundation | Western Golf Association: Since 1930, the Evans Scholars Foundation (ESF) has provided full tuition and housing scholarships to deserving caddies. More than 12,285 Alumni have graduated as Evans Scholars, representing more than $435 million in tuition and housing costs. There are currently 1,190 Evans Scholars attending 24 universities across the country. The Western Golf Association (WGA) has conducted championships for professional and amateur golfers since 1899. Today, it is a driving force in the game of golf, raises funds and awareness for the Evans Scholars Program and promotes youth caddie opportunities. Manage relationships with approximately 200 WGA Directors and donors through thoughtful stewardship and relationship development. Serve as the point person and expert on the WGA Director role for west region WGA Directors. Develop strategies to identify and facilitate micro-fundraising campaigns in collaboration with ESF’s volunteer leadership and WGA Directors. Provide support to WGA Directors through creation of curated marketing campaigns and other awareness activities Leverage relationships with WGA Directors to recruit new volunteer leaders and identify other prospects for fundraising and support of the ESF. Collaborate with the Development team to support and advise on portfolio activities, including developing and executing cultivation and solicitation strategies, securing materials to support donor engagement, and preparing for donor meetings. Leverage departmental resources, including the Donor Communications and Development Operations teams, to request and refine meeting materials, correspondence, donor proposals, and prospect research in a timely and efficient manner. Support the Caddie Development team in their efforts to recruit individuals who can have a significant impact on the Evans Scholars program as future WGA Directors and grow caddie programs at clubs in the east with the goal producing future Evans Scholarship recipients. Lead various annual administrative processes for the Director Development team. Attend events throughout the year as the ESF representative. Qualifications The ideal Manger, Director Development will bring most of the following qualifications and skill sets: Three to five years of experience as a fundraiser or sales and business development experience, ideally in a highly complex and dynamic environment such as a Non-Profit organization, higher education institution or a large, federated organization. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Non-Profit Management, or related discipline. Demonstrated experience as a successful fundraiser and familiarity with working with volunteer Boards. Ability to work cross-departmentally and achieve results in a both an individual and team setting. The ability to help determine the fundraising priorities of the Evans Scholars Foundation. Leadership presence that is effective with a variety of constituencies, including volunteer leaders and high-net worth individuals. Authentic appreciation for the role that the Evans Scholars Foundation plays in defending and promoting youth caddying across the country. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge. The ability to travel 50%, independently and with Development team members. Ability to work some nights and weekends as required.
