Job Description The SVP, Managing Director (MD) is entrusted with a client book of business including some or all defined contribution (401k), defined benefit (pension), health/welfare administration, and other related products and services. Primary contact for the client and works in a team structure responsible for leading, educating, resolving client issues, establishing relationships, and meeting the needs of Plan Sponsors and other Employee Benefits contacts. Focuses on understanding and responding to client needs, adopting a consultative role to understand business needs and client perceptions. Ensures client satisfaction by seeking feedback and proactively addressing issues. Key Responsibilities
Manage a client book involving 401k, pension, health/welfare, and related services. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including at senior/executive levels. Lead client meetings, both in-person and virtual, with detailed planning and preparation. Coordinate internal resources to analyze and recommend solutions addressing client needs. Act as a trusted advisor, differentiating Fidelity’s benefits offerings from competitors. Facilitate discussions on legal, regulatory, and design issues across plans. Collaborate with Investment Consulting to develop effective investment strategies. Own client relationships, resolving problems to ensure satisfaction. Build internal relationships to support superior service delivery. Qualifications & Skills
College degree preferred or equivalent experience. Series 7 & 63 licenses required post-hire. 10+ years of benefits outsourcing or client service experience, especially in 401(k), pension, or health/welfare administration. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and negotiation skills. Ability to develop and maintain strategic client relationships. Effective presentation skills and ability to influence at senior levels. Certifications Series 7 - FINRA Additional Information Fidelity’s hybrid work model combines onsite and offsite work, typically onsite every other week.
