We are seeking a national business class lead (BCL) for our fisheries facilities design group within the Water Business Group. The BCL will collaborate with the Fisheries Business Class Director, peers, and HDR teams to manage and grow our fisheries facilities design business across the US and Canada. This role involves technical development, project oversight, quality assurance, and mentoring, with a focus on designing fish hatcheries and aquaculture systems. Experience in upstream/downstream fish collection, fish passage, water treatment, and digital modeling is desirable. Your Role
Lead fish facilities business development, including client interactions, scope development, and strategic planning. Review marketing proposals, technical scopes, and fee proposals related to fisheries work. Coordinate functions within the fish hatchery design center, including staff assignments and workload management. Lead quality control efforts, develop design standards, and implement BIM processes. Ensure successful project setup and technical design execution. Qualifications
15+ years in engineering design of fish hatcheries, aquaculture, or water systems. PE licensure and NCEES registration preferred. Experience developing plans, specifications, and supporting documentation for construction. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, BIM software (Revit, Civil 3D). Master’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering is preferred. Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a related field. At least 10 years of relevant experience. Professional registration and experience managing diverse teams. This position is based in the United States with multiple location options. The compensation range is $128,016 - $254,000, depending on skills and experience.
