Progeny Systems

business area. This portfolio includes submarine sonar, combat, cybersecurity, electronic warfare, and mission readiness systems primarily serving the US Navy and DoD prime contractors. The SBDSM will lead strategy formulation and business development activities for Progeny Systems initiatives at GDMS, including cultivating key U.S. Government and international customers, leading capture teams for new programs and ventures, managing annual investment funds, and developing long-range strategic plans. The SBDSM reports to the Progeny Systems Strategy and Business Development Director (SBDD) within the

Maritime & Strategic Systems (M&SS) Line of Business . The role involves supporting Business Segment Directors and collaborating with business developers across M&SS Undersea areas. Relevant industry, operational, and acquisition experience with the US Navy submarine community is preferred.

Responsibilities:

Advise Business Segment Directors and the Strategy and Business Development Director on growth strategies and resource management for future procurements.

Integrate seamlessly within the Progeny Systems organization, fostering a culture grounded in innovation, efficiency, and agility.

Lead and manage the capture process for specific opportunities within the DoD Undersea Warfare market.

Identify and recommend new business opportunities to meet growth goals.

Develop strategies and plans to acquire new business.

Assist in creating short and long-term business forecasts, sales, and marketing plans.

Conduct research and analysis supporting business development, acquisition, strategic planning, and marketing functions.

Gather and analyze data on competitors, market trends, and customer preferences.

Apply creative thinking to enhance business performance and deliver innovative solutions to meet customer needs.

Stay informed on industry trends and pursue technological innovation to maintain competitive advantages.

Participate in promotional activities and trade shows to market products and services.

Create a team-oriented culture focused on success and goal achievement.

Travel approximately 20%, domestically and internationally, to conduct business professionally and independently.

The position is based in Manassas, VA.

Salary Note This salary range is an estimate based on experience and other factors such as location. Actual pay may vary. The posting remains open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range USD $218,814.00 - USD $236,763.00 per year.
